Privacy policy

• When you send us an enquiry on this website: your name, phone number, village, what you’re interested in and your message. If you choose to continue on WhatsApp, that conversation happens on WhatsApp.
• When someone registers you as a lead, either our staff or a HasiruAqua Bandhu (a village volunteer who introduces people to us): the same details, and sometimes the location where they met you.
• When you become a customer: your contact details, address and farm location; the farm and pond details you share with us, such as land, water source, pond size and past fish farming; photos of your pond and of work done there; and your orders, jobs and invoices. Location data is removed from photos when they are uploaded.
• If you use a MeenDoctru pond monitor: the readings it sends (water and air temperature, TDS, battery) and which pond it is on.
• When you sign in to the app: your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account, and your role (staff, farmer, vendor, buyer or Bandhu).
• If you are a vendor or a Bandhu: the details we need to work with you, and the bank account or UPI ID we pay you to.
• On this website: Google Analytics counts visits and clicks, such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location, using cookies. It does not tell us who you are.

• to reply to your enquiry and call you back;
• to deliver what you have asked for: farm ponds, fish seed and feed, pond monitoring, buying your harvest, and service;
• to run the app: show you your own ponds, orders and readings, and alert you when a pond needs attention;
• to pay vendors and Bandhus, and keep our accounts;
• to improve our website and services.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

We use Google sign-in only to confirm who you are. Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us. We do not access your Gmail, contacts, Drive or any other Google data. Our use of information received from Google follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

• Our team, to do their work.
• A vendor we hire for your job, such as a pond builder, sees your name, phone number and farm location only once they are confirmed for the job.
• A Bandhu sees only the leads they registered themselves and whether each became a customer, not your farm details or what you paid.
• A buyer such as an FPO that bought a MeenDoctru unit for your pond sees your name, village and whether the unit is working, not your readings.
• Companies that run our systems for us: Supabase (our database, hosted in Mumbai, India), Vercel (hosting for this website and the app) and Google (sign-in and website analytics).
• Government authorities, only where the law requires it.

Your information is stored in India, in Mumbai, and each person in the app sees only what their role allows. We keep it while you are a customer or partner of ours, and afterwards for as long as our accounts and the law require. After that you can ask us to delete it.

You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop contacting you. Call or write to us using the details below and we will reply within 30 days. This includes your rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information about children.

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
